Alen Haljevac
Final Stage Costume Design

Alen Haljevac was born in 1972 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After getting a degree in graphic advertising and textile design from School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts where his studies were interrupted by war.

Being passionate about his work, he remained active in spite of the turbulent war times by taking part in various projects whose purpose was to keep the heart and soul of the city strong and healthy. In 1994 Alen moved to Los Angeles where he completed his studies at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) majoring in fashion design and finishing with the Advanced Fashion Design studies. He was awarded with the Designer of Tomorrow and Bob Mackie scholarships, and he won the Liz Claiborne contest. His work has been seen in Tokyo, Atlanta, Milan, New York.

Alen's also worked with Warner Bros in product development, Walt Disney Feature Animation as a costume designer, being a fashion and costume illustrator, engaging in color forecasting, wardrobe styling for short film and commercials and doing costume design for LA dance group. Alen is honored to be part of this theatre production as well as to have this play as his first theatre project.
